My name is Dean Crouch, and I’m a Health Physicist and “Radiation Protectionist” living in Perth, Western Australia. I’ve spent more thn 20 years moving between different industries keep workers, members of the public and the environment safe from ionising radiation and from time to time, other harmful agents as an Occupational Hygienist.
I play a key role as a member of the Australasian Radiation Protection Accreditation Board helping recognise the great work and experience of my collegues.
My work has focused on advocating for appply the right level of control and concern to radiation risks, and not ‘throwing everything including the kitchen sink’ at risks less than a standard chest x-ray.
I enjoy recreatation spreadsheeting and Monte Carlo modelling and you’ll often see me preenting at conferences trying to rekindle people’s fascination with maths.
